Mr Danny Lesiba Masimene is the current President of the Black Business Council in the Built Environment (BBCBE) which was established in 2007 and is the apex organization of black construction and professional organizations in the country. One of its main objectives is engaging government and other statutory bodies to influence the drafting and implementation of appropriate legislation to create an enabling environment for the black constituency in the building and construction industry. Mr. Masimene intends to use his positions to ensure meaningful partnership with government in delivering the infrastructure towards responding to our honourable President’s call. The partnership wants to establish mutual relations with the Infrastructure South Africa (ISA) and other infrastructure departments and entities. Mr. Masimene’s wide experience and influence allowed him to serve across various associations such as NAFBI, Black Construction Council Limpopo, Construction Transformation Charter Group, NAFCOC, cidb and CETA in fighting against various industry-related challenges.
Mr. Masimene has a deep understanding of built environment-related matters, having more than 20 years’ experience in construction, and having served the CIDB for ten years as a member of the National Stakeholder’s Forum (NSF) prior to his appointment as the CIDB Board Member. Serving as a member of the NSF enabled Mr. Masimene to have a helicopter view on issues affecting the cidb which helped him to contribute significantly to the formulation of policies including supporting the review of the CIDB Act as well as the Best Practice Scheme. He was recently appointed to serve on the Construction, Education and Training Authority (CETA) AA as a Board Member.
