Who is Focalistic?

Focalistic is a musician, a businessman and an all round entrepreneur, I chose music but I always say you don’t choose music, music kinda chooses you. I studied political science at the University of Pretoria but I always had a dream of becoming a musician so I am able to link the background of having a political science degree and the love I have for music has been an amazing journey.

Most of my songs do speak about real life issues and my true passion is to inspire especially the youth where I come from.

Do you think Amapiano is here to stay?

The reason I chose Amapiano is because it’s the best canvas for my story. When I use to make music we started off with hip-hop however, Amapiano to me is the most genuine genre from low deep to the low keys and it perfectly merges with the South African culture.

I always say Amapiano is the revenge of the South African ancestors. We growing up in a crazy time and the beat of Amapiano is more a vibe than anything else, it’s positive and it’s here to stay.

It’s the true spirit of South Africa in a time capsule.

How excited are you about your collaboration with Jägermeister?

It started with a meeting at a restaurant kinda the same setup as the Industrial Coffee Work in Centurion where we are having the launch. I explain to them my vision and at the time my music was not that popular, but they believed in my vision and me. Ever since it’s been more like a family.

So shout out to Jägermeister and the support of Straata Nation.

Seeing my face on the bottle Jägermeister as well it’s crazy to comprehend…. I’m having the best time of my life!
